Describe something special you brought home from a holiday

What it was

When and where you went

What you did with it after you brought it home

And explain why you thought it was special

Ok right then, well after thinking for a bit just now, the thing I’d like to talk to you about is a bottle of Scottish whisky, which I got when I was on holiday in Scotland.

And I suppose it must have been about two or three years went I went there, during one of my summer holidays, so I can’t remember a lot about the trip, and I can’t even remember the exact name of the whisky, but um, I do remember it tasting quite good!

Anyway, as for why I brought a bottle back home with me, well as I’m sure you know, Scotland is very wellknown for its whisky, so I was determined to get a bottle while I was over there. And um, even though I knew that there were a few supermarkets in my hometown which sold the stuff, I wanted to choose a brand which could only be bought locally, you know, not one of the big commercial brands like Jonnie Walker that you can get anywhere, but something a bit more special that I would only be able to find in Scotland.

And I’m happy to say that, everyone who tried it back home really enjoyed it, and it disappeared pretty quickly, as you can probably imagine! In fact, I think my friends got through it in about two or three days or something.

So um, looking back on it now, I guess I probably should have brought a couple of bottles back with me instead of just (the) one. But then again, my luggage was already stuffed full, (as it always is), so um, I suppose there wouldn’t really have been any space for another.

So yeah, that’s pretty much it. Thanks a lot for listening.

Must have been - 对过去事实肯定的推测

Get through it = finish it (often used when talking about drinking something)

But then again =但话又说回来

Stuffed full = 塞满
