学生写信建议学校应该在新生开学之前，给他们future roommate的contact information: email和电话。

好处1：可以让新生们早点互相认识，先交朋友。

好处2：可以plan到时候带去的东西，以免太重。

【学生态度】：女生赞成。

理由1：能让学生在进学校之前就和自己的future roommate联系，这样进学校就不会太生疏，能感觉舒服点儿；

理由2：能让学生提前和自己的future roommate商量带什么东西，因为学校的宿舍很小，如果带了很多行李stuff, 就放不下了。举例说自己和室友每人带了个小冰箱，宿舍里放不开，如果先联系，就可以避免类似情况出现。

【文章要点】：Personality attribution error:人们总会把错误归结为personality上面，而忽略了一些客观的外部条件。

【教授举例】：教授（男）用自己的例子做了解释。一次他参加一个会议，迟到了十分钟，他很安静的进入会场，没打扰到其他人。在会中教授向演讲者（女）问了一个问题，但是她并没有搭理教授，而且看着有些生气。教授后来了解了情况才意识到，女演讲者在会议开始就说了今天时间紧张，让大家不要提问，下次开会的时候再提问。而女演讲者以为教授故意忽略了她一开始做的说明，她并不知道教授迟到了，没听到她做那个说明。

natural consequence 阅读讲的小孩做错事，大人口语不用惩罚，由着做错事的结果来惩罚孩子。

听力，教授给了个例子，教授5 岁的女儿经常把玩具放在后院，平常教授都帮女儿收拾。 一天女儿还是把玩具放在后院，教授没有帮收拾，那天晚上下雨，把她的玩具损坏了，女儿在这件事后认识到自己的错，以后再也不帮玩具放后院了。

4. 阅读：close communication bias 跟越熟的人沟通反而越不清楚。教授举例：同时约新教授跟旧教授一起吃饭，跟新教授讲地点时，时间、地点都讲的很清楚，但是跟旧教授只说约在老地方，结果时间到了旧教授出现在另外一家餐厅。

说人很多时候在作决定之前会考虑afterwards的後果，所以预测后果很多时候直接决定人做很多决定。讲座教授举例说自己过去一次要帮妹妹买生日礼物。结果看到一件jacket非常喜欢可惜钱只有那么点，就比较犹豫。后来考虑了一下买回去以后自己肯定会非常有负罪感如果买夹克给自己然后给妹妹买了一个很cheap的礼物。所以最后还是放弃了买夹克的想法。直接给妹妹买了很不错的生日礼物。

Reading部分：Stimulus discrimination:动物能够区分类似的stimulus 的能力；例子说seal海豹听声音来决定keep on eating还是leave, 碰到predator和harmless的情况声音不同。Predator 叫声单一，声调高； harmless 动物叫声复杂，几个音调掺杂在一起。

讲广告让受众接受产品的两个方法，一个是在合适的时间让受众看到，举的例子是玩具车的广告要在孩子们喜欢的电视节目的时间段播出，第二个好像是要和实际的产品结合(记不清了)，举得例子似乎是他女儿和朋友们有个小玩具，然后最近要有关于这个玩具的节目上映了。

Animals that hatch from eggs 会在蛋壳里的时候就会制造出一些声音来communicate that they are ready to hatch. 「教授举例」第一个目的:当有很多eggs 的时候,it is very important that 这些 eggs 在同一个时间被 hatch 出来,而不会 出现 hatch 晚的 baby 被妈妈遗弃了。比如 ducks,一个 duck 要hatch 了,就会发出 clicking noise,其他的 ducks 也会发出 同样声音,告诉妈妈我们都要出来了,别把我们忘了的意思。第二个目的是让妈妈帮助自己成功地破壳出来。比如 crocodile, 他的 eggs 是埋在 mud 里的,baby crocodile 要破壳出来的时候,就会 scratch the inside of the shell 告诉妈妈,然後crocodile妈妈就会把 mud remove 掉,否则 baby crocodile 出不来。
