托福听力学科词汇 背还是不背？

对于托福听力而言，学科词汇是必须要背诵的，但是一些学科知识是不需要浪费脑细胞去记忆的。那么那些是必备的学科词汇，哪些是可以视而不见的学科知识呢？我们来举几个例子：

学科词汇例子：
　　1. They are not at all aggressive and territorial like eastern marmots.
　　2. Germination ability expires.
　　3. There’s a strong connection between these two genres.

以上这3句话中，红色单词是否认识呢？如果不认识或者不是很熟悉，那么你们在学科词汇这块上还有漏洞，这些属于必须要掌握的学科词汇，如果这些学科词汇不掌握，就会给你正确理解听力篇章内容造成障碍，你就没法真正听懂。

我们再来举个例子：

学科知识例子：TPO10-Lecture2 European History

Both of these plants are members of the Nightshade family. The Nightshade family is a category of plants which also includes many that you wouldn’t want to eat, like mandrake, belladonna, and even tobacco. So it’s no wonder that people once considered potatoes and tomatoes to be inedible too, even poisonous. And in fact, the leaves of the potato plant are quite toxic.

这段话提到Nightshade family，这个单词肯定不认识吧？这种单词我们把它称之为学科知识，不认识没有关系，因为往往这类词后面都会有很详尽的解释，一定解释到你听懂为止，大家可以特别关注我标蓝色的字，you wouldn’t want to eat, inedible, poisonous, toxic, 你不想要吃，不可吃的，有毒的，通过后面的解释，我们就可以知道Nightshade family往往是那些不能吃有毒的植物。

通过这个例子我们也可以看出，我们要正确理解这些学科知识的前提是我们要掌握学科词汇，如果你不认识这些用来解释学科知识的学科词汇比如inedible, poisonous, toxic，那你就没法正确理解者学科知识了。
