导语：
雅思写作Task 2中主要的考试题型之一是：Discuss both views and give your opinion。学生在写作该题型时觉得比较难，甚至无从下手，这主要是由于这种作文类型是我们中国学生在中学和大学四六级考试中所没有的新题型。在多年的教学中，结合不同学生出现的问题，分析主考官和高分作文的范文，总结出该种题型作文的写作思路，并应用到教学中，学生成绩的反馈还不错。

一、文章的整体结构
Introduction: 引入句+过渡句（转述或改写题目中双方的观点）
Body1: 讨论第一个观点（展示观点+分析原因/实例+分析利弊）
Body2: 讨论第二个观点（展示观点+分析原因/实例+分析利弊）
Conclusion: 表述自己的观点+原因或自己的建议。
展开观点：
e.g. C6, T2：Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
展开的观点：other important professions, such as top surgeons or research scientists, or even leading politicians.
C8 T1: Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
展开的观点：a good member of society, to be a good member of any society the individual must respect and obey the rules of their community and share their values.
Some people think that the only purpose of prison is to punish crime. Others , however, think that it has other purposes. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
展开的观点：other purposes: to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for law-abiding citizens; to deter potential crime; to rehabilitate law offenders; to educate people, etc.
二．对于两个views的个人观点不同，作文主题段论证的方法也不同。
1. 赞同一方-- 先讨论不赞同的一方进行论述和反驳，后提出赞同一方的看法和理由，最后点明自己的观点。
例文：C6 T2：Successful sports professionals can earn a great deal more money than people in other important professions. Some people think this is fully justified while others think it is unfair.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
练习作文：教育类：Some people believe the society benefits from people who receive university education; others think the large number of these people will lead to high rate of unemployment. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
赞同的观点：the society benefits from people who receive university education;
不赞同的观点：the large number of these people will lead to high rate of unemployment. （high rate of unemployment is caused mainly by economic recession and economic crisis.）
2. 中立时– 主题段论证时分别帮对方给出理由，最后提出自己的看法。
例文：C8 T1 : Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this.
Discuss both views and give your opinion.
练习作文：文化类：In some culture the old age is more valued, while in some cultures the youth is more valued. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
3. 不同意任何一方– 在讨论时对双方看法阐述后都分别加入反驳成分并论证两者之间的关系，最后亮出自己的看法。
例文：C7 T1：It is believed that some people are born with certain talents, for instance for sport or music, and others are not. However, it is sometimes claimed that any child can be taught to become a good sports person or musician.

练习作文：环境类：Development in technology leads to environmental problems, and some people think that the solution to these problems is for everyone to lead a simpler way of life, while others say that technology can solve these problems. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
