I’d like to talk about the tiger, a fierce yet beautiful animal native to our country. And we Chinese people are quite familiar with this kind of animal and it has long been a symbol of power and vibrancy in our culture. Actually the cat is indigenous in forests in Northeast and South China. As world’s largest cat species, the mammal can weigh up to 350 kg. And it can reach a total body length of 3 meters. This strong body of tiger just makes it one of the most intimidating predators.
The heavily built creature is also featured by its stripy fur coat. Ironically, this yellowish-orange camouflage, which effectively hides it from its preys, simply incurs the animal to greedy human beings who just want to take that skin away. And of course, there is only one way to get it, that is, to kill the tiger. As a result, large numbers of tigers were hunted. There are also other factors that contribute to the drastic decrease of tiger population, like loss of their habitats and medical use of their bones. And now they’ve been endangered animals.
