Describe a sports star that you know or know about.

• Who this person is
• What sport he/she does
• How he/she looks like
• And explain how you feel about this person
Sample answer
Today I’m going to talk about my favorite sports personality of my favorite sport. His name is Scott Hamilton. Mr Hamilton is regarded to be the greatest male figure skater of all time for his flawless performances. Be it turns, steps, spins, or, jumps, even the hardest axels jumps, he’s always able to complete the moves agilely and elegantly. He’s also characterized by his creativeness. He was the first figure skater to have brought backflip in a skating performance and he was also the only one who could do it successfully. As a matter of fact, from 1981 to 1984, he won 4 consecutive U.S. championships and 4 consecutive World Championships, and 1 gold medal in the 1984 Olympics. Also, he has been awarded numerous honors. For instance, he was inducted into the United States Olympic Hall of Fame in 1990.
In1997, however, Mr. Hamilton was diagnosed as having testicular cancer. As a result, he had to cancel all his competitions and performances. Yet he soon made a return after his treatment. This story just drew the attention of the public and he’s considered to be a hero. But, in November 2010, he was in the hospital again to remove a benign brain tumor. He made through the surgery yet before long another tumor was found in his brain. Nevertheless, Mr. Hamilton showed great courage. He said nothing could get him down and he believed that he could make through all the ‘tough spots’.
