雅思口语Part3：Holidays
Q1.What are some of the public holidays in your country?
A1.Actually we have two big annual public holidays, the National Day holiday and the Spring Festival holiday, which last for 7 days each, and several short holidays like the Labor Day holiday, and, the Mid-Autumn Day holiday, when we can have one day off.
Q2.What do people usually do on holidays?
A2.If the holidays fall on traditional festivals, like, Spring Festival or Mid-Autumn Day, people usually stay at home with their family to celebrate the day. Other holidays, like National Day or Labour Day, are the time for spending money and time away from home, when people may make an outing or go travelling in some foreign countries.
Q3.Do you think people in China need more holidays (vacation time)?
A3.I really think so. In fact, we have only 11 days of holidays each year, which I think is far from enough. People need more time for various recreations, especially those which take a longer period of time, like package holidays. This is more than just to relax ourselves. It is about higher life quality. Another thing I shouldn’t forget to mention is that, at present, where there are the week-long holidays, there are a horrible traffic strains, such as the Spring Festival Travel Rush.I guess the only way to alleviate this is to have more holidays so that the strains could be spread.
