Describe a law about the environment you would like to see in the future
You should say:
What this law would be about
How this law will take effect
Why it is important to have this law
And explain what changes will happen because of this law
I think the environmental law I would like to see implemented in the future some time would be that every building must be fitted with solar panels, because I think if this was done, then it would reduce our reliance on non-renewable energy, thereby benefitting the environment.
And I admit this idea might seem a little outlandish at present, but in the not-too-distant future, I think it will be quite feasible. In fact, if I’m not mistaken, many homes around the world are already being fitted with solar panels. So I think it would be a huge step in the right direction for this to be made into a law.
And one of the biggest consequences would be that considerably less fossil fuels will be used for power generation, which will have a very positive impact on the environment, as I’m sure you’d agree, because I mean, solar power is a far cleaner way of generating electricity than using fossil fuels. And whether we like it or not, fossil fuels are gonna soon run out, so it’s in all of our interests that we start promoting the use of solar power on a much wider scale, which this law would do.
Describe an unforgettable advertisement that you saw or heard.
You should say:
Where you saw or heard it
What kind of advertisement it was
What the contents of the advertisement were
And explain how you felt when you saw or heard it.
Ok then, well it was kind of difficult trying to think of an ad to talk about because, to be honest with you, most of the adverts I see I forget pretty much instantly. But thankfully I remembered an Apple ad which I saw not that long ago, on my laptop I think, and it was probably one of the most memorable ads I’ve seen, so that’s what I’m gonna talk to you about.
And as for what happened in the ad, well in a nutshell, it just showed some short clips of very famous people throughout history, like Einstein, who have had a huge impact on the world. And um, yeah, that was basically all it was, you know, paying respect to the people who have been courageous enough to try and change the world, and emphasizing the fact that Apple is striving to do the same by thinking differently. So it basically focused on promoting Apple’s corporate identity, rather than its actual products.
Anyway, in terms of how I felt after I watched the advertisement, well I actually felt pretty inspired by it, because it was basically encouraging all of us to be different, and that by doing so we can all achieve great things, like the people in the ad, and like Apple of course!
Describe a street that you like to visit.
You should say:
Where it is
How often you go there
What you like to do there
and explain why you like it.
Well, there are quite a few streets that I could have chosen to talk about, but I’d say the one I most enjoy going to is Hefang Street, which is somewhere in the centre of my hometown, about fifteen to twenty minutes' drive from where I live. And as for how often I go there, well on average, I guess probably something like once or twice a month, which I know is not a lot, but unfortunately, I just don’t have enough time to go there as much as I’d like to.
Anyway, regarding what I like to do on this street, well most of the time I actually just go there for the street food, because there are loads of stalls which do really good food, like barbecued squid, lamb kebabs, chicken wings and stuff like that. So that's basically what I mainly go there for, and it's making me feel quite hungry just to think of it! And um, there are also quite a few little shops selling various souvenirs and handicrafts, but I don’t spend much time in them because most of the things are pretty overpriced. For example, a pack of postcards will probably set you back about 30 yuan or so, whereas if you went to one of the bookshops in the city, it would probably only cost about 10 yuan.
But anyway, in terms of why I like this street, well, firstly, as I mentioned just now, the food there is fantastic, but as well as that, I also like that fact that it's pedestrianized, so there's a lot of space to walk around without having to worry about getting hit by a car! And also, most of the buildings are pretty old, which gives the street a nice, traditional feel.
