GMAT语法考试标点符号用法之分号用法：在GMAT语法中的，标点符号不做重点考察，但是在句子结构语法知识点中涉及到分号。在分析长难句时，了解分号的用法可以帮助我们快速分析句子结构。

分号最常见的作用连接两个意义相关的句子。比如：在句子中Like many others of his generation of Native American leaders, Joseph Brant lived in two worlds; born into an Iroquois community and instructed in traditional Iroquois ways, he also received an education from English-speaking teachers.

1、连接两个意义相关的句子；

2、放在however等的连接副词之前，来表明两个独立的句子的关系；

例如：

I bet you have finished your homework;However you are wrong.

3、用在举例子的句子前；

例如Olivia and Malory are excellent students;for example,they both made A’s on that tough Math test.

4、用在包含太多逗号的句子或者短语中。

例如OG13P676 第26题

Tropical bats play important roles in the rain forest ecosystem,aiding in the dispersall of cashew,date,and fig seed;pollinating banana,breadfruit,and mango trees;and indirectly helping to produce tequila by pollinating agave plants.此为改正确的句子。分号在此的作用就是避免太多逗号让读者产生断句的困难。
