肥胖者的福音——你再也不需要抗拒“美味”的诱惑了

身为一枚（坨）胖子的我，在生活中深深理解所谓“减肥”是一项多么伟大的事业——屡战屡败，屡败屡战。对每个胖纸而言，简直可以说是一段可歌可泣的血泪史！

其实绝大多数胖子所渴望的，不过是能够穿上均码的衣裤，而所谓肌肉真的可有可无（尤其是女生……我们要肌肉干嘛？）。所以运动减肥远没有节食减肥来得实在和有效，可是……美食带来的诱惑感叫人欲罢不能，欲走还留。

但今天，我要告诉各位胖友，属于我们的福音来了哦！留下你想要的美味，甩掉讨厌的卡路里！因为，想得到美味根本不用吃任何东西。

美国国立卫生研究院的味觉神经科学家 Nick Ryba 日前表示，他们已经找到了人类味觉享受的根源，就在大脑皮层的某个区域（regions of the cortex, where particular fields of neurons represent these different tastes, there's a sweet field, a bitter field, a salty field, etcetera），承载着酸甜苦辣咸等各种味觉观感。

可这有什么用？别着急，人家还做了一堆小白鼠实验嘞。

Ryba and his colleagues found that you can actually taste without a tongue at all, simply by stimulating the taste part of the brain—the insular cortex.

They ran the experiment in mice with a special sort of brain implant—a fiber-optic cable that turns neurons on with a pulse of laser light.  And by switching on the bitter sensing part of the brain, they were able to make mice pucker up, as if they were tasting something bitter—even though absolutely nothing bitter was touching the tongues of the mice.

就是不给老鼠吃东东，光给负责味觉的大脑皮层通上电，“兹兹”一声，老鼠就被“苦到”啦。细心的同学看到托福听力的加试词汇--神经元细胞“neuron”了没有？原来神经元细胞也可以被 turn on 哦。那么下次，同学们说自己的感觉来了，就可以跟打啵儿中的男女朋友讲“You are turning me on”了，对方一定会被 flatter 到哦！

这个实验可是苦到小老鼠咯！不过不要紧，接下来，科学家们会用事实来告诉我们，什么叫做物质决定意识。

In another experiment, the researchers fed the mice a bitter flavoring on their tongues—but then made it more palatable by switching on the sweet zone of the brain. （palatable, SAT 必备词汇哦，它是美味可口、令人愉悦的意思！）

What we were doing here was adding the sweetness, but only adding it in the brain, not in what we were giving to the mouse.  Think adding sugar to your coffee—but doing it only in your mind.
