　　it is a widely occurring phenomenon that companies, especially those big ones have a high expectation on their employees’ work experience accumulated before they graduate from university. Thus, many undergraduates spend more time on part-time jobs or field research rather than on consolidating theoretical courses. As far as i am concerned, however, i believe theoretical knowledge lays a solid foundation for people’s future success in career.

it should be realized that theoretical courses inform students the basic principles of industries. considering that the textbooks are edited by those who have been recognized as the authority and who have accumulated abundant experience in one particular field, the textbook knowledge or the knowledge imparted by the teachers of these courses may be universally applicable in the cases we might be confronted with in our workplace.  having a good command of these rules enables us to get rid of fear when facing the working tasks.

another point to note is that only with the accumulation of theoretical knowledge can we set clear goals. due to the fact that one person’s time and energy is greatly  limited, it is impossible for him to determine his future career objective after attempts in all work fields. in other words, browsing the books and listening to professors’ lectures provide a precious platform for undergraduates to find where their interest lies and stipulate a clear plan for their future development.

we also have to admit that practical skills may play a role in people’s personal achievement. as is known for all,  things are changeable and the fact is especially true when it comes to this fast-paced society. only by applying the initially acquired theoretical knowledge without some updated information, we may be greatly restricted by its rigidness and outdatedness.
