Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is important for government to protect wild animals and wildness areas for future generations.
Some people states (state) that there is no need for the government to protect the wild animals and wilderness areas. They thought (think) the government has more important things to do instead of this. As far as I am concerned, they are totally wrong. The measures of protecting wild animals and wilderness areas are definitely necessary.
Wild animals should be protected. It is known to all that, the food chain plays a significant role in the ecosystem. The problems of any part of the food chain might easily cause bad impacts in the whole food chain and eventually damage people’s interest. About five years ago, farms in the countryside near my city used pesticide to kill birds in order to protect their grain and crops. However to their surprise, before long the number of mice in this area had a boom and caused a lot of problems not only in the farm products and (but) also in people’s lives. Birds eat the seeds of the crops and grain that is why farmers hate them, but at the same time birds eat mice. Once the birds disappeared, mice lost their natural enemy. Consequently, the number of mice in this place increased rapidly. Therefore, the food chain is delicate. Every part of it has interdependence with others. Protecting wild animals is protecting the food chain and protecting the food chain is protecting ourselves.
Furthermore, wilderness area should be protected also. Wilderness area is the living place of the a variety of wild animals and insects. It makes no sense to just protect wild animals without protecting wilderness areas. Moreover, without protecting the wilderness area we might loss (lose) beautiful places around us. I have traveled to a city to appreciate the beautiful river near the city with my friends. At that time, we were deeply impressed by the river and the environment around it. However, after three years when I went to the city the second time, Things had been totally different. The river had been seriously polluted and no one would like to go there to enjoy the scenery. The smelly odor dispersed around and made bad influence on the residents. It is really a pity; with the development of the city we lost such a good place. If the government could do some measures to protect the river it would not happen.
All in all, the government should take measures to protect the wild animals and wilderness areas. These measures are in order to protect ourselves and our future generations in some way. By these efforts, I believe our future generations will have a more beautiful world.
