Definitely a police officer. There are two reasons supporting my argument. First of all, a police officer works at the frontline, dealing with dangerous criminal everyday. They put their lives in a harm way to protect the public. A higher salary is something that they deserve. On the other hand, based on the fact that this job is indeed dangerous, a higher salary can attract more capable people to apply for this job and fully devote to it. In addition, this job requires a lot of interaction with criminals who might try to bribe officers. A decent salary can help prevent corruption. 

 

Task2. Describe what your life would be like if you were not allowed to used cell phone for a month. Explain why. Please include details and examples in your explanation.

I think that my life will be more wonderful without cell phone. Because currently I’m addicted to it and can’t help checking it. Sometimes I’ll just stare at the phone for no reason. The worst part is that people are constantly disturbing me while I’m trying to work or study. I can barely fininsh my task. For example last weekend I planned to prepare for a presentaion. However my friend sent me a video and we started a discussion about it. It sadly took up the whole afternoon. I would have accomplished the mission if there was not a cell phone.

 

Task3：The school decides to increase the number of enrolled students in one class. Firstly, there are increasing number of students applying for this class. In addtion, there isn’t enough faculty to support more classes. 

But the student in the conversation is all against this decisioin. To start with, more students might result in less interaction between students and the professor. This doesn’t help to achieve the goal of enabling students to pick up knowledge in this class. What’s more, since more students apply for this class, school should be receiving more tuition which can be used to hire more teachers. That can suffice the need for more faculty. So what the administration suggests doesn’t add up. All the problems can be solved. 

 

 

Memory amenia refers to that the sources of the memory are forgotten. The professor uses one example to explain this. On the other day, he visited his sister and a butterfly flying by reminded him of a hike experience. He was so tired back then that almost gave up. But when he saw the beautiful butterfly, it encouraged him to keep going. He told his sister about this experience. Surprisingly, his sister laughed at him. Because that scene was actually in a children TV program rather than real life experience. This experience suggests that professor can conjure up this scene but forgets the source of it.

 

The girl in the conversation has a problem that her film study class and doctor appointment are at the same time tomorrow. She really wants to attend the lecture and write her final paper about the film. There are two possible solutions to the problem. The first is to rent the film. The second is to write about other films which she has watched. I recommend the the first soluion. Because she could ask her friend to record the discussion and listen to it afterwards. Doctor appointment is not something that she should miss. Because health is the top priority. Otherwise she may have to wait for another couple of days for the appointment if she is absent from the it.

 

The professor mainly talks about two disadvantages of commission. The first is unfairness. For example in a store selling electronic products, one employee has been helping a customer a lot, answering all sorts of questions. However this customer didn't make purchase of the product right away. Instead, he came back the next day and bought product from another employee. Then the commission went to the second employee who actually did nothing. The second disadvantage is competition between employees. Senior staff would not like to teach and help the new staff. Because the latter might be potential threat to the former. They might take the commission that could have been senior employees’. So the growth of the sale gets stuck. And the company suffers the loss.
