Taking a panoramic view of human history, we can readily find that various sports play a crucial role in the life of each and every individual, which can justify the prevailing proverb that life lies in motion. Given the significance of sports, the general public, especially the elder, are strong believers of the claim that we can learn a lot by engaging in sports activities. Towards such a long-running tug-of-war, I am inclined to believe that playing sports can really teach us many valuable life lessons, especially a sense of cooperation as well as persistence and patience.

In the first instance, consider the team spirit. As is common sense, the team sports, an important part of the whole sports field, require team members to work with each other in order to win the competition. To be specific, they need to stay together and train together, which will make the sense of cooperation take roots in the mind of each member. The 2004 success of Pistons, a famous NBA basketball team, is a good case in point. Despite the fact that none of the players in that team is the best player in this league, they managed to win the championship. In addition, the same is true of acquiring persistence and patience by doing sports.
