In context, the references to “fancy schools” and “apartments”(line8) serve to

(A) illustrate the glamour of urban environments

(B) suggest some concerns then arrator may have

(C) establish a contrast between past and present lifestyles

(D) indicate the narrator’s distaste for rural living

(E) challenge the stereotyped view of a region

原文:It looks so wholesome, so simple, so uncomplicated. No fancy schoolsto get into, no apartments to compare. It looked pleasant there…

2(OG646): The statement in the last part of 1st paragraph ("Too bad. .. Andromeda") suggests that

(A) scientists would like to observe events that occurred on Earth in the distant past

(B) there may be planets in Andromeda that are reachable through space travel

(C) the study of Andromeda would offer interesting comparisons to planet Earth

(D) a planet in Andromeda will be alikely observation point for Earth in the future

(E) Andromeda is much older than Earth

原文:This little bit of time travel is possible because light takes two million years to make the trip from there to here. Too bad we couldn't turn things around and observe Earth from some cozy planets in Andromeda.

The statement in lines 32-34 (“in 1962… information ”) suggests that the

(A) quality of the data surprised the scientists

(B) evidence collected earlier was relatively untrustworthy

(C) records had been lost for along time before scientists rediscovered them

(D) probe allowed scientists toformulate a completely new theory

(E) data confirmed an obscure and implausible theory

原文:In 1962 the American probe Mariner 2 bypassed Venus at less than 22,000 miles and gave us our first reliable information.
