雅思阅读中常考同义替换总结之一

在之前的文章中，我们讲过，同义转换是雅思阅读考试的两大核心之一，能掌握阅读考试中常考的同义转换对阅读来讲是至关重要的，今天我们来总结几组常考同义转换，大家要牢记哦～

一：限制

limit, restrict, confine, define, narrow, constrict, cap

narrow(v.): 这个词大家以前使用的时候一般都是作为形容词来用，这里强调下它的动词的用法。

E.g. We are working on narrowing the gap between our points of view.

我们正在努力缩小我们观点之间的差距

define (v.): 英文释义： If you define something, you show, describe, or state clearly what it is and what its limits are, or what it is like

这个词大家以前熟悉的意思是“给……下定义”, 这个意思和限制并不矛盾，什么叫下定义？就是描述出一个事物的轮廓，所以定义就是在一个给定的范围内给一个事物限定的特定的意思。

E.g. The Supreme Court decision could define how far Congress can go in trying to determine the outcome of court cases.

最高法院的裁决可以界定国会在决定法院案件的结果方面可以走多远。

constrict（v.）:to limit or restrict what sb is able to do  限制，约束

E.g. Film-makers of the time were constricted

那时的电影制作人受到了审查官的限制。

cap (n./v.): 这个词最常用的意思是帽子的意思，作为限制的意思再形象不过了。

E.g. The government has placed a cap on local council spending.

政府已经限制了当地委员会的开支。

二：现代的，最新的

contemporary, modern, current, present, recent, up-to-date, latest

up-to-date(a.): 最新的

E.g. They have access to up-to-date information through a computer database.

他们通过电脑获得最新信息数据库。

latest (a.):最新的（这里需要注意latest不要翻成最晚的，是最新的，最近的意思）

E.g. This is the latest in robot technology.

这是最新的机器人技术。

contemporary (a.): 现代的，当代的

E.g. She writes a lot of contemporary music for people like Whitney Houston.

她为惠特尼·休斯敦等人创作大量当代音乐作品。 

三：增长

grow, increase, expand, rise, improve, soar, climb, extend, rocket,

improve: 这个词在这里需要强调下，这个词在某些特定的场合下甚至可以表示消极的意思，例如：犯罪率在improve

soar (v.): 飙升

E.g. The price of petrol has soared in recent weeks.

最近几周汽油价格飞涨。

rocket(v./n.):作名词是火箭的意思, 动词: 直线上升
E.g. Stock prices rocketed to their highest level yesterday.

股票价格昨天飙升到最高点。

这组词在阅读和写作当中可能会发生词性的变化，主要是形容词，动词和名词这三种间的转换。

四：集中，聚焦于，关注于

focus on, concentrate on, aim, spotlight, be engrossed in, lay/place/put emphasis on, deal only with, highlight,
