看童话故事《灰姑娘》高效学英语

对于许多英语的初学者们来说，英语当中繁杂的语法知识，绵绵不断的词汇是非常枯燥的。很多人都试过投入很多时间，但是到头胀近吐的阶段，也没有多大提升，还落下了见语法词汇生拒或恨的逆反情感。

真的没有更“性价比”高的方法么?

有。比如看看童话故事，学习英语语法和词汇。

格林童话和安徒生故事，相信很多人都不会陌生。皇帝的新装，卖火柴的小女孩，灰姑娘，白雪公主和七个小矮人等等，都是我们陪着我们的童年，耳熟能详的故事。只是，我们大多看的是中文版。为何不尝试读读英文版呢?

比如下面这段从《Cinderella》灰姑娘节选的英文：

Once upon a time, there was a widower 1 who married a proud and haughty woman as his second wife. She had two daughters, 2 who were equally vain and selfish. By his first wife, he'd had a beautiful young daughter, a girl of unparalleled goodness and sweet temper. The stepmother and her daughters forced the first daughter into servitude, where she was made to work day and night in menial chores. After the girl's chores were done for the day, she would retire to the barren and cold room given to her, and would curl up near the fireplace in an effort to stay warm. She would often arise covered in cinders, giving rise to the mocking nickname "Cinderella". Cinderella bore the abuse patiently and dared not tell her father, since his wife controlled him entirely.

处处是知识点。

1和2在 语法上是定语从句，修饰人。同时形容词“proud and haughty”傲慢自大”vain and selfish”虚荣自私，读着朗朗上口。

“a girl of unparalleled goodness and sweet temper.”是“of +名词” 作为形容词的语法，比如“a man of humor”意思是有幽默的男人。

“servitude, where”这里也是个定语从句，用“where”引导的说地点的定语从句，“servitude”是劳役，类似”labor”。Where 后面的句子补充说灰姑娘工作的内容。

“after”表之后，时间状语。

“since”表原因，原因状语。

文章中多处为过去时，“By his first wife, he'd had a beautiful young daughter”这里用的是过去完成时，讲的是在第一任妻子(在第二任之前)，就有了一个美丽年轻的女儿。

Soon after that, the queen gives birth to a baby girl who is as white as snow, as red as blood, and with hair as black as ebony. They name her 'Snow White', but sadly, the queen dies after giving birth to her.
