突破雅思口语，举一反三抓趋势

2014年在经历过1月份口语话题的动荡之后，2月的考题已经是非常稳定，但这之中不乏还是会有制约学生口语表达的一些拦路虎，而a piece of clothing 正是其中之一。相信拿到这张卡片题之后，考生们的第一反应是衣服有什么好描述的。其实，根据卡片题上的4道提示问题，我们很快地就能把握方向: 类型，样式，用途，个人看法。接下来我们一一地来解决这四方面的词汇和表达问题。

The piece of clothing I’d like to describe is Qipao, which is the most famous traditional garments in China. Despite it’s long history, surviving many dynasties, “qipao” only came to prominence around the 1920’s in shanghai, as fashion awareness grew.

“Qipao” has undergone a lot of changes over the years and these days, the material used is mainly silk or satin. As for what it looks like, “Qipao” is a tight-fit, one piece dress that is made to enhance the female figure, as is seen in many Chinese/Hongkong movies. My foreign friends have commented on how amazing actress like “Zhang Zi Yi” and “Gong Li” look in “Qipao”. They have many foreign admirers. When it comes to the length, it varies. It can be knee, foot or floor length. Some “qipao’s” are sleeveless and others have a cap sleeve. Besides, Qipao’s can be worn with accessories such as jewelry and they are decorated with colorful Chinese embroidery.

Luckily, I have several qipao’s myself and I used to wear them to attend weddings, parties and other social functions. I haven’t worn them in ages because I have gained a lot of weight. In china, being slim is attractive, as opposed to the west. I don’t wanna hinder my chances of getting married by looking fat in my “qipao”.
