英国的工程学科历史悠久，也是很多学生留学的选择专业。比如暖通工程。暖通在国内学科分类中的全称为供热供燃气通风及空调工程，本科阶段为建筑环境与设备工程，简称暖通空调。这个专业是当前比较热门的专业之一，这个专业与室内环境息息相关，而且这个专业涉及面比较宽、广、深。宽到冷峻场、办公室、家庭环境、纺织厂、制造厂等；广到只要涉及到室内品质的地方都需要；深到地下隧道、地下室，还有地方商场。这一切都说明这个专业由于用途广，所以基本都能够找到一个比较不错的工作。

英国的硕士课程里，没有单独的暖通空调专业。暖通专业到英国可以选择的专业基本上是Building Services相关专业。从必修课程我们可以看到，很多课程都是学生在本科阶段就已经设计到的课程。因此，课程难度并不是特别大。而一些学校的该专业课程有英国工程协会的认证，对于学生毕业后找工作是非常有利的。
