景观设计是关于土地的分析、规划、设计、管理、保护和恢复的科学和艺术。景观设计主要服务于：城市景观设计(城市广场、商业街、办公环境等)、居住区景观设计、城市公园规划与设计、滨水绿地规划设计、旅游度假区与风景区规划设计等。

这几年以来，国内各地都出现了景观设计的热潮。但是，国内的景观设计一直都比较混乱，存在一些观念落后、概念不清等问题，所以很多学景观设计的学生都会选择去国外进修，这其中很多学生都是首选英国。在英国，景观建设已成为城市公共生活空间的重要组成部分，景观设计已成为人居环境科学的一部分，形成了教育注册培训执业和继续教育等一系列完整的职业制度，也聚合了广泛的社会基础和优秀的领军人才，建立了行业协会的社会管理体系，成为社会分工的有力支柱。>>>英国景观设计有疑问？点击咨询蒋馥蔓老师！

与会计的ACCA以及建筑的RIBA认证一样，景观建筑领域也有专业的行业认证。英国有专门的景观协会Landscape Institute (LI)，如果一位景观工作者经过协会的一系列测试与评估，获得LI的认证，将会成为景观协会特许会员Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute，可以在名字后面加上CMLI字样。这是景观工作者专业水平以及品质的保证，无论是招聘单位还是客户都会更倾向于此类专业人士。

如果想要让CMLI之路更加轻松，在前期选择就读学校和课程的时候要特别留心了，如果选择受Landscape Institute 认证的学校和课程，在就读期间注册成为Student Member，那么学生毕业后就可以直接成为Licentiate Member，这是通往Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute的必经之路。
