收到offer皆大欢喜，但收到拒信后，心理素质再好，也难免产生强烈的自我怀疑。

大家有没有想过，你为什么会被拒绝?

我们来了解一下，国外大学发拒信的9大理由。

本科院校排名低

The main reason(s) we are unable to offer you a place is as follows:

I am afraid your academic qualifications are not at an appropriate level for entry onto the programme you have chosen.

学校不在认可名单内

Your undergraduate degree was obtained from an institution which is not approved for admission to the University of Glasgow. Please note that unfortunately this means that we are not able to consider you for any other postgraduate degree.

均分不够

Unfortunately your application for this course was not successful at this time, the reason is that unfortunately your qualification grades do not meet the University minimum entry requirements.

专业背景不合适

Unfortunately your application has been unsuccessful because your previous qualification subject area is not sufficiently relevant for this programme.

However the Department would like to refer your application to the MA Golbal and International Citizenship Education or MA Social Justice and Education.

核心课程不合格

没有学够核心课程，或核心课程均分不够

You have not completed the minimum number of core modules for admission to this Master's degree programme. In addition, the core modules that you have studied are too low for consideration for this programme.

PS不够strong，或学习目的与教学目标不符

为数不多的拒信，会写你的PS不够strong，或者，你的学习目标与大学提供的课程不相符。

Thank you for your interest in studying MSc Applied Linguistics. Unfortunately your application has been rejected as your interests do not match the remit of the programme.

申请被放在waiting list中

被放在waiting list中的申请，最终也会通知录取或拒绝，如果拒绝，就真的是竞争激烈，没有位置了。

As you are aware, your application was placed on a waiting list. We can now confirm that unfortunately there are no places available for this programme for 2018 entry. This means that we will not be able to make you an offer.

竞争激烈

I am sorry that on this occasion we are unable to offer you a place on this course, as applications for our Fashion Masters’ courses are extremely competitive; this year we have received over 1,600 applications for just 200 places, and as places are limited we give preference to those applicants who best meet our selection criteria.

其实，收到以上拒信的同学都是幸运的，至少拒得明明白白。事实上，80%以上的拒信，并不会给出一个具体理由。
