专业概述
市场营销作为传统的商科专业,申请的热度可以说仅次于金融和会计。 相比较其它的商科专业,开始市场营销专业的学校数目也是相对较多。在前50的院校中就有不少,比如Columbia U- Graduate School of Business-MSc Marketing, Johns Hopkins U-Carey Business School-MS in Marketing, Northwestern U-Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications-Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC), WUSTL-Olin Business School-MS in Customer Analytics, USC-Marshall School of Business-Master of Science in Marketing, U of Virginia-Mclntire School of Commerce-MS in Commerce (Marketing & Management Track)<只招收non-business背景学生>,U of Rochester-Simon School of Business-MS in Marketing Analytics, New York University- School of Professional Studies-MS in Integrated Marketing, University of Georgia-Terry College of Business-Master of Marketing Research。
在自媒体和大数据的时代背景下, 美国院校的课程开设也有了变化。市场营销专业不仅仅是再局限于整合和行为学,社会学,经济学,广告学和公共关系学等诸多学科的相关知识,越来越多学校的的市场营销专业开始和数据分析、计算机等进行了更深入的融合。 甚至不少学校的专业名称直接是Marketing Analytics,Marketing Research Marketing Intelligence等,其课程内容通常会包含商科基础、营销策略、消费者行为学、广告和营销、客户关系策略等,项目完成后学生会进一步加强以下的技能:定性研究、统计、统计软件SAS/SPSS/计量经济学 、多元统计、抽样调查研究、实验设计、数据挖掘、网络分析。
1) 学制:1-2年,部分学校学制1年,开学时间在夏季(6月份)
2) 先修课程:
不要求本科专业背景,申请者有商科基础课程,数学,统计背景,可以进行适当的统计软件如SAS,SPSS的操作等会对申请有帮助。如果在申请前没有完成全部的先修课程要求,部分学校可以在硕士课程开始前提供在线或者暑期课程让学生完成先修课程要求。以下是Fordham U的先修课程要求
Before beginning the Fordham MSMI, students should have successfully completed courses in statistics and calculus, and they should have an adequate background in basic computer skills and data-analysis software. If you don’t have these foundations yet, don't worry—we’ll support you in acquiring them before the program starts.
